Sew For Hope Receives $1,500 AARP Award

Andrus Award
Last week, ThriftSmart’s ministry partner Sew For Hope was the recipient of $1,500 from the AARP. Sew For Hope’s founder, Rita Atkins (second from right in photo), was chosen as one of three Andrus Award winners in the state of Tennessee, an AARP award honoring outstanding volunteers. Congratulations, Rita and Sew For Hope! We are excited to see this money put to good use purchasing commercial sewing machines for the program. Sew For Hope offers professional sewing classes to refugee women, which are held at our Nolensville Pike store. For more information, visit www.SewForHope.org.
