Why We Love What We Do

At ThriftSmart, we love providing jobs, running the best thrift stores possible, and supporting local charities with our profits. There are all kinds of things that are fun about that. But it doesn’t stop there. We love that we have the privilege of building relationships with our customers and serving our community in ways that truly meet tangible needs.

Did you know that at our Nolensville Pike store we have free ESL classes every Tuesday at 6:30pm, and that we offer professional sewing training and help refugees find jobs through Sew For Hope? We love being part of the diverse, international community surrounding our Nolensville Pike store because here, customers, students, staff and volunteers from all over the globe build relationships and work together in ways that are truly transformational.

And on days like the one recently when one of our regular customers, Prem Adhikari from Bhutan, showed up with samosas, curry and naan bread for our staff – extras from his son’s third birthday celebration – we are reminded again of just how wonderful (and delicious!) it is to do what we do!
